Hey /lit/, I've seen a few movies based on Dick's books that I really like (Blade Runner in particular, plus Total Recall and A Scanner Darkly were pretty good.)

I just started pic today and I'm not sure I really get what he was about. Were themes of insanity and delusion less common in the '70s? And is he known for his writing style or content? His style seems a little dry.

I'm liking it so far, but I'm not sure if there is some context I'm dry on.

Flow, my Tears, the Policeman Said
I've just recently discovered the works of Philip K. Dick and I am engrossed by all of them so far.

Someone care to explain to me what happened in this book?

[spoiler/]Did Jason's going unconscious end the affects of the drug that made him believe he was a star? Was he a star in the first place? Why does the end make it seem like Jason was executed but then the Epilogue says he lived to be 100 years old or something?[/spoiler]
