Windelband's History of Philosophy is apparently full of insights on the method of examining the history of philosophy. According to the SEP:

>Windelband conceives of the history of philosophy as a “history of problems”. . . . he organizes the presentation of philosophical ideas according to the fundamental problems around which the philosophical debates and arguments of an age were structured. [He] also takes a reflective attitude towards his own historiographical practice and seeks to clarify the goals and systematic relevance of the history of philosophy.

From Section 6 of the article on Wilhelm Windelband.

This all sounds fantastic, but I open to page 1 of his textbook and I'm absolutely filtered by the Greek words, the density of information, the translator's insertions. How do I approach his book?

Any and all help would be much appreciated.
