About two years ago I read the ROTS novelisation and I was actually really impressed with how it was written. The author could have just phoned it in with a "he said she said" dialog splurge, but it read more like a great tragedy. Some parts where pretty cheesy but its definitetly an improvement over the source material and probably the best Star Wars book.

Revenge of the Sith by Matthew Woodring Stover and Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn are still my favorites.

Has anyone here read this, and if so, surely I'm not the only one who can tell just how well written this is?

Although admittedly I'm listening to an audiobook of it (couldn't find a copy to order anywhere from my country) its pretty damn enjoyable to listen to, way way beyond simply using the star wars content as a crutch

Wow, compared to the movie this made Anakin's change to the Dark Side way more convincing! Palpatine was legitimate as fuck too in this book.

I would want to embrace the Dark Side after reading this novel. I don't disagree ONE BIT with Anakin fucking the Light Side over. It makes complete and utter sense now.

I don't care what you retards think about this novel being genre. I personally think the Star Wars genre ALONE is underrated as fuck!

I'm about a quarter of the way threw with Revenge of the Sith by Matthew Stover and really blown away with how detailed, descriptive and complex he makes the writing in such a novel.

You actually see inside the head of Anakin Skywalker which I never expected. Stover also brings the feelings and thoughts of Obi-Wan to life which is great. He throws you INTO the space battles as though you were there which was a completely different and cool approach I didn't expect Stover to take. I understand now why so many readers liked Revenge of the Sith. Even non-sci-fi readers. Mainly because of the complexity and quality of the writing itself. I'm really enjoying it!

What does /lit/ as a whole think of all the Star Wars novels and book adaptions out there? Are there any others that are worth a read?

Jung was highly influenced by Nietzsche

The book was actually better than the movie.

Sheev had many of the same issues as Hitler, he wastes his effort on politics. Sheev doesn't give a fuck about their feels or opinions but even concerning yourself with herding them was considered not worth the time of an Ubermensch to Nietzsche. Men are to the Ubermensch as apes are to men.

Sheev is a complete moral relativist. In other books, he denies the force has a light or dark side and says this is all abstraction of human minds of a power that can't be comprehended in such basic moralistic terms. He gains this perspective from his master, who thought all of the Sith rules were just stupid superstitions, as he kills his master, Plagueis essentially recites the 'God is dead' line and says he's abolishing all of the bullshit rules and ceremonies since they've outlived their usefulness.

The Plagueis novel is actually one of the few pieces of SW pulp worth reading desu. Plagueis is both a skeptic and a mystic, he thinks the force could be understood in a fully scientific manner one day. But he uses some mystical methods he doesn't fully understand just because they work.
