The Tiger is a great poem. But I wonder to what extent its greatness comes from Nael, age 6's actual superior talent. Kids don't know what they're doing, have not read very many poems, and thus have no clue what makes one "good" or "bad". If a six year old writes a good poem, its got to be an "accident". The things we might praise his poem for, such as it's evocative yet terse language, didn't ever pass through Nael's mind. He just wrote a poem.

But now I wonder if this is exactly why Nael is such a good poet, and us adults are all so bad. I like how OP contrasts it with Rupi Kaur. Side by side they tell us something important about poetry
