Am I the only person here who finds this book boring? I must just be a very boring person or something if I can't find interest in Quentyn Martell trying to find a boat or a conversation from the previous book written from a different point of view. While those are vast simplifications of those chapters, to me those concepts are quite boring. George adds a lot of details though which makes them more interesting, but I find myself zoning out quite a lot while I'm reading. He certainly knows how to hook a reader, I'm pretty much only enduring these chapters in anticipation of Tyrion meeting Dany. I'd like to see if the stuck-up cunt takes him at face value as a devious deformed kinslayer or if she's patient enough to see the kind person underneath.

That should do it. Now then, I've just finished the book, and, FUUUUUUUUUUUU!

He dies? You all know who I'm talking about. I can't believe it. I know Martin's big on killing off characters fans think are sacred cows, but, damn, I can't believe Martin would kill HIM.

Thoughts? Is he really dead?

So, who else thinks that the Theon that meets Asha is actually the Bolton bastard?

Since the Starks are naturals at wolf magic, and the Targaryens are naturals at dragon magic, why wouldn't the Boltons all have the same magic that GRRM just showed us Arya using to wear someone's actual face? Especially when he already pulled the trick once, sort of, with Reek.

Just finished reading a Dance with Dragons now, I've been avoiding /lit/ to save myself from reading any spoilers, but now it's done so I want to know what my fellow readers thought of the latest book.

Thank god Jon is finally gone. Now if only we could remove Bran.

Just finished Dance. These are solely the rankings of the pov's from this book alone, not the entire series.
So awesome that they're some of the best writing of the series:

1. Theon Greyjoy. (FUCK YEAH, MANDERLY)
2. Davos Seaworth.
3. Tyrion Lannister (Pretty Pig and Crunch ;_;, a heart warming tale. Tyrion's best ever.)
4. Jon Connington
5. Quentyn Martell
6. Victarion Greyjoy
7. Bran Stark

Good:

8. Jon Snow. (They started sucking when Jon wanted to rescue the wildlings from Hardhome. Tormund was great though)
9. Cersie Lannister
10. Arya Stark
11. Barristan Selmy
12. Asha Greyjoy
13. Jaime Lannister. (Only one chapter, but I liked it well enough)

Bad:

14. Daenyerys Targaryen. (Her turning down Quentyn might be the dumbest thing in the series. Fine, you want to wait a while before you take Westeros. But when you're served up 50,000 swords you don't pass on the offer).

Very bad:

15. Areo Hotah

I didn't include it, but the prologue and epilogue were both great. Overall, great book. Second best of the series.

DailyBeast calls it the best yet.

Thank you GRRM. With 5/7 of the books being great, looks like this will end up being the best fantasy series of all time.

Or if someone who has read spoilers can maybe tell me there thoughts about it without spoiling.

Regarding Dance spoilers.

I've been reading that a lot of the spoilers going around are fake. Can someone tell me if the Jon snow is stabbed is fake or not? Thanks. It's the only thing I've been spoiled on.
