nowhere did they state or construct that, you seem to have drawn a false conclusion based on your assumptions

I don't see any evidence of a bias in OP's post. As anyone who has participated in those types of threads before knows the reason there isn't much high-quality African literature is because most of Africa has had a literary tradition for way less time then other nations and cultures and most of it has to do with colonialism anyway which quickly becomes trite. Not even OP but that is demonstrated in those threads so often thats its not even worth mentioning and I'm pretty sure that was the reason for OP writing that and not any bias on behalf of OP, notice that they didn't say that all of its shit only that most of it is which is what one would expect base on the reasons mentioned.

Assuming OP had a racist bias and thinking that they implied that popularity and artistic merit are mutually exclusive were the two central points of your post and yet both are false.
