The Morgaine Saga is some very early Cherryh work that lacks her later polish. Generally anything she wrote in the 70's I'd say. Did you know she collaborated with an artist on a graphic novel version of Gate of Ivrel? Only a portion of the story was completed, but you can still buy signed copies of old stock directly from her (I did :3).
