This is a fucking literature board?? I'd suggest you crack the books. How about reading any philosophy whatsoever? I used to say this shit when I was 14. Conceptualizing humans as pleasure seeking computers disregards consciousness and rationality altogether. Pursuit of pleasure is a very strong determiner of action, but it cannot explain why people value the things they do. The fuzzy feeling I get from the idea of kicking heroin for the sake of my family will never outweigh the sheer potential pleasure of a regular heroin habit. If you say humans are disposed to pursue certain *kinds* of pleasures at the expense of others, you have to explain how that disposition is identical with a pursuit of pleasure.
