Okay I see a bunch of people here always pushing German visual art, literature, philosophy and music. I won't try to argue philosophy; but especially for music and literature Germany has been severely lacking in the past seventy years. How is that?

Is this some kind of reference to literature? Has anyone written about this ever before the movie?
It seems to simple and yet so elegant and natural. That comparison is something which probably happened an uncountable amount of times before in history for the same reason, a scene where someone cried in the rain, making those tears invisible and wasted but for the person crying. Blade Runner is a master piece but this actually seems like something entirely now. With analogies that's incredibly rare, I suppose.

What books will kick me out of the coomer mindset? I recently read Savage Detectives by Bolaño and Story of the Eye by Bataille and they seemed to inject me with coomerism. What are some contemplative novels that don't involve sex or lust?
