Why would Stoker have the least developed character die the most glorious death? Also, did anyone else find Van Helsing to be as annoying as I did? With his long-ass digressions and terrible accent.

Thoughts, /lit/? Is this of actual literary merit, or is it just garbage that somehow withstood the test of time?

So there's this guy, he's like, da boss then he invites this dude to his mansion and what does this dude do?
He runaway without even saying goodbye but our guy's like I'm chill and then he goes to London because fuck, London is da bomb and this dude from his mansion come back (he's schizofrenic I think) and talks shit about our man.
So turns out a cult or somethin wants to kill Dra and they are all like schizo with visions and shit so Dra goes "fuck this shit I'm going back home" but these guys kill him while he was into his coffin (he was into goth stuff) and then, like, the end.

Hey /lit/, about to buy some books online and was looking for some recommendations. Recent books I've read and liked were The great Gatsby, The broom of the system, The crying of Lot 49, and the lies of Locke Lamora. I'm not looking for any specific genre, so just recommend some great ones.

Also I already own Gravity's rainbow, and Infinite Jest.

Hey /lit/.

I read the short story "Dracula's Guest" yesterday and really enjoyed the author's style of prose.

Earlier today I saw the Novel "Dracula" online, and I was just wondering if it's worth a read, perhaps over the holidays.

What does /lit/ think?

I have like three chapters left and I don't really like it. It feels like he ran out of ideas around chapter 16.
