Just think about what you read from time to time. You forget because you just dump a book out of your mind after you've read it. The bigger problem is you're not taking the time to contemplate what you've read on anything more than a superficial level.

I haven't written anything in three years. I feel horrendously guilty about it but at the same time my confidence is shattered and I'm terrified that I've lose my touch (however much I may have had), and will have to essentially start over from scratch. I also went through benzo withdrawal during this time after quitting cold-turkey and I'm worried the JUSTing my brain took may have had an impact on my style and ability. I'm racked with self-doubt and I wish I were back in college writing for 12 hours a day.
