Fair enough.

I liked the first dream sequence and the naturalism of some of the forest scenes, but otherwise, you really have to engage in the old man's nostalgia and death fear, else there's nothing to watch.

Bergman has a habit of fucking up traditional melodrama with bad pacing, (some would cite his history of suffering abuse as a child was what caused to lose all balance); Autumn Sonata, for example, ends with this gratuitously lengthy catharsis scene. Hence, Wild Strawberries, being this quite nicely paced meditative piece, compares favourably to his whole oeuvre. That said, Cries and Whispers and Fanny and Alexander are very strong and very tragic.

Moral for the rest of the thread. Don't be quick to judge.

A community of fungal cells that inhabits the space between a prostitute's two big toes of her right foot is the subject of complex socio-political examination. The story arc takes place from the humble beginnings of the yeast growth until the moment when this lady of somewhat disreputable means forks out for an antibiotic remedy.

There are 543,768 characters all denoted by a number and a mutation class; i.e. Yeast Cell First stage #132, or YC1#132. Popular characters include YC1#0 the patriarch of the community and a generally noble soul, YC2#5470 a cell known for his endearingly roguish behaviour and YC33#543,767 the last cell alive and a sort of philosophical figure in the peace who finishes the piece by meditating on the aleatory aspects of microbiological existence.

Because of the asexual character of the yeast's cell's biology, along with the 4,000 page and something length of the novel, this may be one of the most boring books ever written.

That one, over there. Can't you see it? There's a guy with a Stetson leaning on it. Hang on a minute, that man has got his penis out, whipping it back and forth, back and forth. Ok, maybe look for a different server.
