I'd like to give a thanks to Ayn Rand. One of her characters. Howard Roark, has been popping into my head recently. Every time myself or someone else tells me to abandon my dream. He's there. It's a combination of him, punk roots, and my upbringing on 4chan that has given me a "Be a writer or fucking kill myself" Attitude that I currently have. I'm happy now I think. I'm way behind from where I should be, but now my life has purpose. I feel like a knife, before I felt like a blanket. Of course I condemn Rand, she's a loon, there are even parts of The Fountain head that I now roll my eyes at. The story of a man against the world would of been much better without Elsworth Toohey and his straw man of communism antics. I was removed from her philosophy when I first read The Fountainhead and We the People, but now I see just how much she used it to push her narrative. Her narrative always come off to me as Egoism, but with racism.
I don't need to justify my liking of her book, works are independent of their author as soon as someone else reads them.

I watched the first two seasons of this a while ago. It's ok. A lot of the gimmicks they pull with the characters on account of them being named after/inspired by famous writers (like >>13316785) get old really quick but they stray away from jokes like that later on. The prequel arc at the beginning of the second season was probably the most enjoyable part.Ultimately it just seems like a few steps above a battle shounen. It's not all that special from the "mystery" standpoint either, especially since there's a character who exists solely to solve those mysteries at the blink of an eye.

They're at a point in their lives where they have simply given up on trying in the general sense and try to grasp a meaning or an identity out of something, anything. A lot of these people think highly of themselves as a defense mechanism to being confronted about the state of their actual lives.
Hell, >>13316672 can fit into this as well. Altogether, it's really a matter of lacking meaningful relationships and purpose in life so they consume media, be it anime or books, to fill in that space with something, anything. It's a matter of identity, of having "something." I'm guilty of both, to various extents.

How do I do it anon? How do I find love for myself in myself? How do I become strong enough to do this?
>>12706849
I have no problem chatting random people up but I never do because I have nothing interesting to say. I'm bad at small talk because my life is not very exciting and I don't know if people want to listen to my mundane shit even though I have no issue listening to theirs. Also if there is someone more attractive than me around I discard myself as 'persona non grata' because people would rather spend more time with them than with me. It's a loop with no exit condition. No one likes me -> I have no self esteem -> no one like insecure fags and so on and so forth ad infimum
