Write poetry. It will improve your aesthetic sensibilities and word economy. Pic a scene you are fond of from something you have written and put it in verse. Better yet try to capture in poetry those special ephemeral moments in life. Another benefit is nothing makes you self-cringe as hard as initially attempting poetry, you get through that and nothing will stop you.

I am not joking, poetry is the pinnacle of language and improves everything below it, like water flowing down from the peak of a mountain.

I think I could have gotten one in my early 20's but I was just too awkward and anxious and excused this by saying I didn't want one. But I have been on my own, socially not just romantically, I think I may have legitimately become odd, like people can just tell at a distance how far out to sea I am compared to the rest of them, and I have become so comfortable with this that now it is no longer an excuse that I don't care.
