Also, a sidebar, but I just finished Loringhoven. It was fairly insightful, but there were a number of obvious editing errors that were jarring for something published so recently.

Nobody's perfect. I'm still rolling at the idea that Einsatzgruppen had specially built gas vans lmao. Reading Bernd's memoir right now and he falls over himself to say he'd never shoot a stinky jew or do the SS' bidding. Probably a product of the times. He could never support it now.
