Apart from the fact that Zizek did address it, that's pretty rich coming from The Guardian - the bastion of neoliberal/ neocolonial apologists who spend all of their time shitting on socialists and propping up thinktank hacks and multinational corporations. And then they have the audacity to wonder why the West is flagging behind while sensible free markets which are properly regulated (by authoritarian means) are pulling ahead. Pure capitalist economies are totally, irreversibly fucked - why doesn't The Guardian ever address that? Probably because they're infested with SJW types who took intro2economics as a module in their BA in Gender Studies. You want to address the rise of China? First:

- remove the constriction of patent law
- outlaw tax havens
- tighten lobbying laws and outlaw foreign lobbies (ie: AIPAC)
- root out systemic nepotism and corruption
- half military funding which inevitably gets pork-barreled into disaster projects like the F-35
