John Gywnne - This series any good? He's writing the last book of the trilogy right now. I've read this, but not the second yet. Does it get any better? Felt very mediocre and the writing was overly simple.

I don't get it. Shadows of the Gods is hailed as a fantasy classic but I don't even know what's going on and I'm already 200pages in. Help me sffg. I'm too much of a brainlet to understand the story.
