Harry Potter is essentially a trust fund kid. Everything is handed to him, and he doesn't earn a single thing through hard work or dedication. Why is Harry a good wizard? Because his father was a good wizard! Why is Harry good at Quidditch? Because Harry's father was good at Quidditch! This implies that greatness is hereditary, and not a result of hard work, and it's a load of bullshit.

In The Half Blood Prince Harry realizes his grade for a potions class is too low for him to become an Auror (a member of an elite unit of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement), but instead of working harder to get what he wants he's accepted anyway, and when he doesn't have the books or supplies to become an Auror they're given to him. In other books, Harry's wand is given to him, his owl is given to him, his tuition is given to him, his broomstick is given to him, and when it breaks he has another one given to him, and when he has to find the Horcruxes... surprise! Harry was already given a Horcrux several books ago! In the course of seven books, Harry doesn't lift a finger; not when there's friends and family to mooch off of.
