Did anyone else find the commentary too obvious? The history of Zembla was interesting, but with only reading the poem I could have given you a pretty good rundown of everything that happened to the king.

What is a book that, is kind of a favorite, and would be prominently displayed in a movie about your life to describe you? One where you could own just this book as your only book to accompany you through your own existence

If you could describe why, that would be nice to read and would be appreciated

I was in the bookstore and overhead someone say
>well you should read the book before you watch the movie
And then immediately after I overheard someone else say
>yeah the book is better than the movie
Why do midwits hold so tightly to these concepts that are very clearly untrue? I can't imagine being so close minded that I have to blurt out
>hurr durr the book is better
every time someone talks about a movie. There are several movies I like better than the books they come from, and I often watch a movie first to know if I would like the book. Do midwits really?

What is that book that describes you so well, and you love so much, that it could be your only book you own and characterize you so well? And why?

Mine might be Kafka’s Metamorphosis because I feel like people view me as just my job or the income I provide them, and whenever I want to deviate from that I am treated like a fucking vermin

theres no reason to get caught up worrying about translations, if you do, you will miss out on some great stories. I suppose poetry wont hit quite the same in a different language, but do you really care that much about poetry? if its not in your native language maybe its not really for you anyway. But any famous book from another country will have a perfectly fine translation and your just missing out if you dont read it. People on this board who say you need to learn portuguese to read pessoa or russian to read Dostoevsky are high school brainlets who barely speak english but they are in their second semester of latin and think they will be able to read the Aeneid by the end. fuck them, just read
