>25 year old (same age as johnny)
>extremely unstable mentally and emotionally because of depression and recent break-up
>whole family goes away for two weeks, leaving me alone in a big empty house)
>this happens as i'm mid-way through house of leaves
>i sit alone, in dead-silence, reading this book, becoming completely immersed in it
>genuinely go fucking crazy, unironically start believing i see things moving in the corner of my eyes and feeling like things are in the house with me
>get so fucking anxious, beyond anything i've ever felt before, and i lock myself in my room all day and refuse to leave except to go to the toilet
>start feeling terrified even having this book in my room, i look over at it and feel disturbed
