I am going to murder you, that this even exists for a book written in the 20th century makes me seethe

No I am mad that you retards keep recommending them to people, they are a waste of time made for ADHD zoomers to scroll through on their iToys. Not a single one has any worth at all. I don't mean this in a haughty sense of "literary worth" I mean they have no entertainment value for anyone who reads above a 3rd grade level. Its not about fame or wealth, you can find better writing on fanfiction.net. Reading machine translated chinese slop has rotted your brain.

>You should aim for a moment of ambiguity.
That's not good. There needs to be a clear, concrete reason why A has no choice but to deal with B, instead of remaining as strangers. As I said, this can't be played like romance, relying on emotion to make them naturally gravitate towards each other. There's only one place where they can meet, the school they go to, somehow the trigger has to be found there. It's like a puzzle.

I want to include a sex scene in my story, though it's not erotica. But I'm still not quite sure how to present it.

The safest route would be to keep it tasteful and not go much into the act itself. Focus on the emotions and meaning of the scene on this decorative, literary level, then to gracefully fade out before the end. That way, everyone can fill in the blanks in their imagination just the way they want, and feel nice and comfy about it.

At the same time, I'm kind of tempted to go into downright clinical detail and make it as long and awkward as I can, destroy any sense of childish romanticism and purity of ideal, to show this isn't some nerds' fap fuel but a critical character moment, and probably piss off a lot of waifufags in the process. I don't know.

I think I finally 'get' the
>he reads translations
meme. For years I just assumed it was pseudointellectual wankery but I've come to realize the credence behind it after reading novels by Saramago, Boris Vian, Houllebecque and a few others.
When I was younger I enjoyed the shit out of P&V Russian translations and never saw a problem in the slightest but now I'm beginning to see how absolutely pointless it is to even read translated works by a lot of authors. The fire of their prose is completely extinguished.
My question, are there any authors worth reading in translation? So far I've enjoyed Proust and the Russian canon but that's it

They're awesome. Just make sure it isn't read by a woman because 95% of the time, and I'm not being misogynistic, their voices are breathy and annoying without good punctual emphasis, if not downright distracting.

Audiobooks with STELLAR production I've been pumpin lately:
-necronomicon
-trial and death of socrates
-gravity's rainbow

Audiobooks that made me reconsider why I would even try and download free audiobooks
-edna st vincent millay's poems read by some breathy airy annoying woman, she literally whispers them ffffffuuuuuu
-most libra vox recordings
-the tractactus- seriously, I guess I'm at fault here for thinking that it'd be a good introduction to listen to this, but furthermore, the guy (libra vox public domain shit) literally reads out loud: CLOSE BRACKET, OPEN BRACKET, TWO DOT ONE DOT TWO THREE ONE DOT ZERO, SEMICOLON, OPEN CLOSE SEMICOLON
guys it was brutal, hold me

>So many of you guys went full-blown atheist from 2006-2013 and are now unconsciously letting your viewpoints be formed by what's fashionable on the internet right now once again? Be honest.

Could not fucking agree more, glad someone else finally said it. There was a period on 4chan across all boards where mentioning Christianity would've gotten you marked so hard from so many people you would've just given up your faith right there.

4chan is obsessed with being the counterculture. This concept will not die. Whatever is popular and mainstream, this site will find ways to adopt the opposite position.

Case in point: /pol/. People who are at heart despicable racists on every possible charge yet are now, mostly, calling themselves 'Christians' and hardcore right-wing since liberalism fell out off hipness when it was adopted by hipsters and SJW's. Four years ago if you were a young conservative in America you'd be a retard, now it's the opposite
