Well, I started The Tunnel. People didn't respond for a while so I just picked one. I'm liking it a lot so far but I am only 15 pages in. It seems right up my alley, very self reflective. I know literally nothing about this book other than it's supposed to be one of the great post-modern tomes so I'm exited to see how it's going to shape up.

You guys seem to not like it? Why not?

The sun also rises
The book thief
The crying of lot 49
Fear and loathing in Las Vegas
Neuromancer

I liked them all but the sun also rises, any recs?

I think the complexity was his way of confusing the reader into the dreamstate that he was laying down literally. He wanted you to be in a trance so you could experience it as a waking dream but he didn't want it to be so obvious as to just be a shallow exploration of a dreamscape.
