>tfw studying engineering and I have to see these people every single day
99% male and 1% female
The 1% of females, you wouldn't even know they were there (they look like the guys)
Meanwhile every laptop I see open during class will invariably have a league of legends wallpaper as if to boast about being perpetually 12 years old.
No one I've met within engineering is able to carry on a conversation about something other than video games or STEM circlejerk, and even then it's only if you get some booze in them.
The classes/assignments/tests/etc are a joke if you actually study the slightest bit. But everyone just copies off each other for assignments which results in "good grades" being obtained by people who don't understand basic concepts.
No one, NO ONE, reads. Everyone just plays the vidya.

>be regularly meeting a friend (non-STEM) for coffee
>he is unavailable one time
>call acquaintance from class who lives 10m from downtown
>"yoyoyo sup playa, want to grab some coffee downtown?"
>"uhhh there's a Tim Hortons a block from my place, why would I go downtown just for coffee?"
>hang up
>never talk to him again
>mfw he couldn't grasp the idea that it isn't about the coffee

Why? Why? Why? The overwhelming majority of people I've met in STEM are autistic manchildren and aren't even good at the school work... WHY?

Are there any good Star Trek novels? Preferably of TOS cast. Also, no shit this isn't highbrow literature, Star Trek is a big guilty pleasure of mine.

>yfw reading Star Trek, not Ulysses
