Read chapters ~2-5 last night, went to bed once I got to chapter 6 of Solar Lottery. I like it a lot more already. The pace has definitely picked up, as with most PKD novels. One of the ideas is relatively simple: the concept of a previous Quizmaster (most powerful human at the time) being able to legally send assassins after the current Quizmaster. Made my noggin' go a joggin'. Imagine living in a society like that.
I find it amusing how in this novel, the 'main' female character doesn't even wear a top for some reason. Bare-breasted in every scene.

Nah, actually. Elantris is in Arelon, a country in Opelon (or Sycla, as named by the Fjordell Empire.) The Rose Empire (the nation Shai is apart of) is on an unnamed continent to the north.

Many of his books take place within the same universe--specifically, the same dwarf galaxy--and shit happens. That's the most concise way that I can put it. There are different forms of magic on different planets, sometimes recurring characters if you pay enough attention, events on one planet related to, or affecting, another, so on and so forth.
