Online articles and the misuse of the p-value have destroyed modern 'science'. Data scientists are pushed into publishing more eye catching data by manipulating studies, as all they need is to get someone to click on a page for a few second so the ads can load. Future studies then use them as sources and this creates a snowball effect of incorrect information. Even ignoring the intentional errors, if you learn anything about handing data, you'll realise that a lot of these jobs mostly involve removing errors and making sure computers don't duplicate data with whitespace and spelling mistakes. I have quit visiting any news sites because of this.

I had an incident the other day where I got kicked out of a fish & chip shop because I didn't have a mask. In England, rules changed overnight making it mandatory to wear masks, I was treated like some kind of criminal simply because I haven't been following the news. I still have no clue if it was right to have me removed from a restaurant, and I'm not sure any of the staff or other customers know either, we're all in the dark over the 'facts'.

Observing my roommate's media habits, he is only comfortable in films in which he understands the references, and made in a period which he recognizes (hence no films pre-2000, something how the cinematic quality is bad).
