that's a great illustration. love the shape design on the torso and the calves.
>typographic fun
i brought up mallarme's "un coup de des" (>>20984219) for this exact reason (no replies, though). i'm very excited to see what we can do with just typography. only recently did i realize while doing these little layouts that JUST text and colour and texture can make a huge difference. i feel like we could honestly even completely eschew images and still have great, earth-shatteringly good graphic design!
BUT i'm really interested in the illustration you've done here, so i think including images would be really really cool. that sort of thing might amplify the "'zine-ness." much soul.
my critique is that it needs cleaning up, NOT in the sense that the lines are "untidy," but in the sense that the "silhouette" is a bit unclear; it takes a bit to understand what's going on, and even those few extra microseconds it takes to figure out what's going on can make the piece go from "cool!" to "eh." look at this pontormo drawing i have saved just to illustrate this concept to people. but it's good drawing nevertheless! very nice.

>Any ideas for best-of illustrations?
for the illustrations, i'm not exactly sure, but i'm a hundred percent in favour of a modernist, 20th-century-revolutionary-artist-core ATTITUDE (i hope you understand what i mean) to the illustrations. stuff like j.f. griswold. will post his work too.

as for subject matter, we're [you're (i am a bad draftsman)] only limited by our [your (i'm a mere connoisseur)] imagination. there's no limit.
i'll only say that if it's possible it would be best to ask the creators what they want (which might run the risk of turning a bit exploitative; it's like a free commission)? or we (you and any other illustrators who are willing to contribute) could spend a little more time discussing our (your) approach.

>You're doing some real nice stuff
thanks.
>What's the software you're using for these?
it's embarrassing, but i use photopea.com.

contemplation? whether in a funny way or a sincere way, i'm not sure.
