Maybe I just got a flawed copy, or possibly a counterfeit. I'm not exaggerating (much) though, it felt like a fucking pizza box. The gilted engravings were chipped and off placement, and the glue binding was worse than a cheap paperback. It really did seem like it would fall apart just by being open.

I eventually settled on the LOA Lovecraft. While it also isn't a complete collection, I know they at least have some sort of quality control.
