I wonder if soon there will be some attempt to regulate epistemic certitude as a kind of public good. You can see the beginnings of it with the rise of fact checking as a profession, and capital 'E' Experts, and ironically also attitudes that reject both those things in favour of immediate personal experience as the gold standard of knowledge.
You can see this kaleidoscopic ocean of illusion, a digital samsara, on the horizon and both attempts at centering certitude in institutions or the more phenomenological and individual rejection of institutions in favour of livid experience seem to be attempts at wrestling with the coming age of doubt. This might be the defining cultural schism of the age, with much else being downstream from it.

Normies will just be unknowingly buffeted about whatever tides pull at them. However, I think you will see a third kind of active participation, and that will be people who no longer place such a great emphasis on truth/false and instead willingly throw themselves into the flow, to ride and to be ridden by it.
