The average reading speed based off a quick search is 250 wpm. Let's say the /lit/ average is 400 wpm which is the standard for a "good reader" at 80th percentile. That's 12,000 words in half an hour. Let's estimate that the average book in that chart is 300 pages, which is a super conservative amount. A 300 page novel has approximately 90,000 words. That's 7.5 days or just over a week to finish a single book. 52 weeks in a year so at half an hour a day that's only enough to finish half the top 100 in a year. Realistically it would probably take over an hour per day to finish it in a year with good retention, maybe even up to 2 hours a day if you're an average or below reader considering there's a lot of tomes there. The most important factor is reading speed which can be trained; for example, I started at a pace of about 250 wpm, which is roughly average, and after a few months of daily reading and forcing myself to stop sub-vocalising I'm now at a comfy 500 wpm. I wish you good luck on your reading journeys anons.
