What's the deal with this guy? When I mention him to my literature prof, she just goes on about his radio broadcasts. I thought his jokes were pretty funny myself.

How do I read this guy?
I was watching a lecture on his work by Langdon Hammer and apparently Pound didn't really write notes because he wanted us to experience the poem for itself or something along those lines.
How true is that in your experience?
My problem with the lack of notes is that Pound seems to love including non-English verses in his poems, greek and italian but maybe more
Do any editions bother to translate this in footnotes?

His Chinese translations are beautiful; apparently he didn't really know much Chinese. How did he do it, /lit/? Why are these so good?
