I am having intense trouble finding information on some aspects of Joan of Arc's life. It seems like every pop culture reference to her mentions that when she went to see the Dauphin, she recognized that the man on the throne wasn't him, and managed to pick him out of a crowd. The second thing I'm curious about was her sword. From what I've heard, she went to a church, removed the altar, and found the sword of St. Catherine.

Are either of these myths true? If we can figure out that she died of heat stroke rather than smoke inhalation, it would seem like there has to be a book that talks about these things!

In 1920, the Church declared Joan of Arc a saint.
