OP here. Yeah, one of the Grade 10 English teachers assigned pic related to their students. When I found out I did a literal facepalm. The expectations and dumbing-down of young people nowadays has hit an all-time low.

The education system of the civilized world has gone down the tubes since I was a child. Instead of reading classics (relative classics, at least), children, even teenagers are required to read incredibly dumbed-down texts for the benefit of the vast minority. You can imagine my horror when I heard that pic related was being read by a Grade 10 English class in my old high school.
