OP here. Sorry for the late reply. A few weeks ago I tried jumping into the Summa and The Republic, but I didn't understand most of the references being made by either author. So I figured I needed to start my philosophy journey from scratch, and I decided to go off of >>18507911. But basically I want to git gud at philosophy, with full reading and comprehension of the Summa Theologica as one of my goals.
I plan on reading the actual works of Homer, Ovid, Hesiod, etc at some point but decided to just start with this since it's what picrel recommended, although I am starting to have doubts about my decision to start with E. Hamilton's Mythology, judging by the reactions of other anons in this thread.
Will I ruin my experience of the epic poems if I read Mythology first? Will it spoil them?

Is there any interest in a history of math/science chart? It would focus on primary texts.

Unironically just follow the chart. Most other charts suck. Greek one is actually decent, only things it's missing are xenophons hellenica and anabasis, and then the orestia trilogy

I actually bought some hardcovers from pic related but the problem is that the internet/smartphone has really fried my attention span
I can't get past a few pages without my mind wandering off and after wageslaving during the week I feel quite drained I just lay in the bed with my phone or consoom some Netflix show
However, I want to finally stop being a booklet and use less screens after work

>Best way to learn is to pick a textbook and start reading it. Don't ask, just read
Couldn't we make a simple infographic with a few recommendations like pic rel?

For what reasons should one actually start with the greeks?
I know it's a meme, but why. Does it teach something? Is it just entertaining and that's it?
I won't lie, I am unironically starting with the greeks and just picked up Mythology, and am so far enjoying it. But then again, I'm confused why it's suggested to start with the Greeks, instead of the Bronze age which would provide a more coherent timeline into the Greeks?

Why not start with the Bronze Age? Then go to greeks?

Do I need to complete this entire chart before I move on to more contemporary works? I've finished Mythology, Iliad, First Philosophers, and a bunch of Plato's dialogues and I'm frankly exhausted of reading the Greeks, but my autism is preventing me from reading something else.

We need a Roman version of this if there isn't one already.
