Young man, allow your tendons white repast
And lock into "bonne soir", the ive' mortise
Until the page's chastity does cease
When current sound is taxoned into past;
That page, writ not by page nor skillèd knight
Nor to a virgin mother of this dream
Or next -- a page enslaved to structure, beam
Of beams -- a writ to color not of sight!
Oh frigid man! Ensure the Gift of Sound
Falls not as bride for Tristan's exegis,
Nor page kerchief for man's ephem'ral bliss;
And keep to space and time the altar bound.

thanks for some actual feedback. being honest I only put the sentence on here because I was about to throw it out and go on without it. One everyone told me it was great for some reason I got really excited and believed it for a day or so

I'll be honest, I think I'm going to either scrap half of it or go on without it. It is pornographic prose and you're absolutely right about that, and since it's like the third or fourth sentence of my story I really can't be opening that way -- it's a good way not to get the rest of the story read.

Also keep in mind Arnie Schoenie here, who didn't produce anything really worth listening to until he was nearly 30. In writer years, that's about the same as publishing your first good novel at the age of 40, given how many of the great composers started composition training before the age of 13.
