I've been dabbling with some free will lectures on YouTube and admittedly my curiosity has been piqued. However, I actually caught myself right before purchasing some books on Amazon and asked: do I really want to go down this wormhole? Every single intellectual I can think of, many of them whom are much smarter than I am, seems to have been wrought by this question to the point of complete apathy and/or depression. I am not at that point and I don't really want to be.

What do you guys think? Are you better off for having gone down the free will rabbit hole?

>free will exists
alright, I'm willing to be rational about this.

what authors/thinkers make a legitimate case against determinism? I just don't see how anyone can deny determinism.
