Writing shit poetry for my English class, here's a four liner about the rape of nanjing

Nippon's folded carbon steel
In Nanjing killed a fifth million
But of what use is a soldier's sword
If used only on the civilian?

I know it's badly worded, some pointers would be much appreciated
