celine - journey to the end of the night

was a huge influence on kerouac and is one of the best and funniest novels ever though it's very nihilistic and cynical
it's 'on the road' without proto-hippie pretense, just a freewheeling fucked up picaresque and celine's dark sense of humor and powers of observation are unrivaled
