The problem with natural theology is that the God that can be reached by it is so generic and amorphous that we can't really know much of anything at all. It's the God of deism. What is good and evil? Are good and evil two sides of the same coin? If so why follow one and not the other. What to make of predation and death? What is our status in relation to God? These are sorts of questions that can't be answered short of a revealed religion.

The problem is that many religious traditions have an exclusive claim to truth that set them in irreconciliable opposition to any meaningful unity. For example, Eastern Orthodoxy affirms that ultimate reality is personal, explicitly rejecting the monism of Greek philosophy and other Eastern traditions. To unify these traditions you have to reduce them to the level of deistic analysis which leads absolutely nowhere.

The only reason to study Perennialism is if you plan on starting your own cult like Gurdjieff or Manson.
