I honestly don't understand what people see in this book. It's boring as fuck, the strongest swordsman in the Kingdom is a woman, the main protagonist just mopes around, there's no waifus to speak of... Yeah I'm gonna give Assassins Apprentice 5 out of 10 stars.

Whichever one of you recommended this to me is a retard. It's so mediocre. Nothing happens. Robbin Hobbs and her dog probably go through a jar of peanut butter a week.

In no particular order: You should of course listen to the audio samples before deciding for yourself.
Lies of Locke Lamora (AKA The Gentleman Bastards)
Assassin's Apprentice (AKA The Farseer trilogy)
The Blade Itself (AKA The First Law)
Cradle by Will Wight
Wheel of Time
The Curse of Chalion

They all have good narrators. Some better than others, but still all good voices.
If you want a big grand adventure then go with Wheel of Time.
If you want something more contained, then go with Curse of Chalion.
If you want something episodic, then go with Cradle. It has an overarching plot, but for the most part, each book is its own story.
