I'd recommend "On Death and Dying" by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross. Seriously, don't be mislead by the title. It's a slightly depressing but amazing and helpful book that analyzes the 5 stages of grief and suggests to the reader how to react to depression in accordance to the stage/severity of the depression. It's not like those shitty chicken-soup-for-the-soul-esque books; it's a physiological, uplifting, and quite philosophical book that actually is applicable to the average human that is devoid of emotional warmth and meaning.

Honestly, It's so appealing that when the game "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask" was being developed by Shigeru Miyamoto and Yoshiko Koizumi, they decided to predicate the philosophy of the game on her theory on grief. They never mention it, but it's so fucking evident it's unbelievable. Boring proof:

I read it and afterward it really gave me a new perspective on life that entailed a significant degree of purpose. You should read it, fellow anon.
