just finished this. it was funny and whimsical, even though it got dark at parts.

any recs for more lighthearted, humorous books that don't crush the soul? i've also read catch-22, but the soul-crushing is a bit too much there, i want to take a break. preferably a classic book.

So I got to read 10 books from a given period -antics to the late 18th century.

Give me some shoot out on what to read. There is a recommended list of obligatory books that the prof made up (Shakespere, Aristoteles, Rabeleis, Cervantes...) but I think that there are many great books.

Give me some books from this period that you personally very enjoyed.

Let's discuss Candide. I'm not a well-read man, but this was the funniest book I have read. A few lines had me crying from laughter.
