I enjoyed the mountain climbing in 1925 historical fiction aspects but le evil Nazis nonsense strained my suspension of disbelief (Nazis were broke ass nobodies in 1925)
Also even though I’m not one to claim that Hitler was faultless or above criticism, to accuse him of taking part in gay pedo orgies is outlandish slander. It made me check out Simmons early life but found nothing definitive unfortunately.

Pleasant enough prose so far by the monster has yet to make an appearance and that might very well ruin everything, so we shall see.
