I'm trying to understand the chinese Cultural Revolution under Mao.
Are there any books that explains the political motives and the historical context that made it possible?
A book that also explains the loss of cultural heritage of China and it's consecuences on chinese culture.
And the relationship between modern China and their focus oin nationalism with the attempt to destroy the past that took place not that many years ago.

As far as I know, it was one of the greatest cultural disasters throughout all of human history, but I would like to read books as unbiased as possible.
