I'm in Berlin and haven't been able to keep up learning German "traditionally" since I've been here. I mean "traditional" in the sense of reading language books, doing the whole duolingo bullshit, etc. I find it all too technical and, honestly, I can't even explain the formal linguists of English in a similar manner. It's soul sucking.

I feel reading a children's book, German translation and English, side-by-side, would both more useful for me, and enjoyable. Probably go for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, since it's one of those classic childrens-lit books that I've never read and probably wouldn't outside of this function.

Has anybody else had success in this way?
