>be reading Presocratics, Plato, Xenophon and so on
>this stuff is great!, I should check out some modern philosophy to see what they're talking about nowadays
>"Accordingly, where dialectics invariably orbits around the relation of relation and non-relation as apex of reflexivity -- which is also the apex of idealist narcissism, since it converts every 'in-itself' into a 'for us' -- the unilateral duality effectuated by determination-in-the-last-instance exemplifies an reflexive and hence non-dialecticizable disjunction between objectifying transcendence and unobjectifiable immanence; one which embodies the non-relation of relation and non-relation."

Why is the default position of all scientists ( and the population at large) 'everything is just chemicals in your brain'? What books are they reading that evidence such claims?

Language exists whenever information is transmitted correctly from one individual to another. If "?" or "???" transmits a message of confusion, query, thought, or general skepticism; then it is a legitimate use of those characters.

>The Alchemy of Masques and Mirrors
I was about to say how well adjusted the antagonist was before he turned into a completely psychotic example of a rare male yandere who wanted to breed with the image of his waifu to create a super magic being out of the love for his waifu and was going to lobotomise and possess the guy if he decided not to breed her out of love for his waifu who he mutilated himself over the centuries for in order to fulfill his promise to her.

I work for an education institute. I sent a query to a "slick" magazine and they approved the article. I have finished the article. I won't name publications, but I have been published in major publications before as a part-time freelancer and unrelated to my full-time job - I know how to write. My boss, however, has their brain stuck in Phd head-up-ass land, where no writing is good unless it is thesaurus verbal diarrhea with long sentences that would make Faulkner faint. The boss wants me to throw out what I've written and instead submit what is essentially copypasta from their headache academic report. There is no reasoning with the boss. What my boss wants is NOT what the editor requested, AT ALL. I am expected to e-mail this 4,500 wordbeast (2,000-3,000 word limit "reader friendly" was requested). I am expected to copy my boss on this e-mail. I cannot think of any way to let this editor know that I'm being steamrolled by my boss without calling them, and I don't know if this person will roll over and squeal to my boss. Regardless, the editor will certainly be pissed off and never accept another query from me again. This was to be the main FEATURE ARTICLE for this magazine. Does anybody have any advice? I want to ask this editor to please leave my name off of it, my excuse being I did not write it, but that will probably piss off my boss.

Does /lit/ keep their book sleeves separate from their book collection? I don't like the way the sleeve gets messed up so I keep all of them in protective cases in a folder. Surely I'm not the only one.

Has anyone made a legible English version of Finnegans Wake yet? Where you just get the story using regular words?
