I see a lot of threads on here about Nabokov's Lolita, but has anyone read any other works by him? Specifically my favourite short story of his, The Return of Chorb.
What's /lit/'s opinion on this?

1. he tried to scientifically describe and draw Gregor Samsa's transformation, even though Kafka himself insists that you shouldn't do that

Some read it thinking Kinbote is the king, but I think him and Gradus were both deranged... I still don;t know if John Shade was a real person or not... or perhaps that was Nabokov's point, similar to his Signs and Symbols...

Favorite Meta-fiction? I am thinking of a writing idea but somehow it seems so obvious that there must have been someone else who did it already. So without tossing my idea out into a lit chat board I figure I could fish around a bit, and my writing idea is very metafictional (is that a word? it should be)

Nabokov - Lolita and Despair

Alright, so I finished Lolita, and it's probably my new favorite book. I'd like to get into Vladmir's other works, but his works are tremendously numerous, and I don't know where to start.

What other novels would you recommend from Vladmir Nabokov?
