In that case quite a decent chunk of greek/latin writers were former slaves who were freed and pumped out some of the most important works of their time.

Terence who almost every monk/student used to help study Latin even though he had "filthy' scenes had such clear concise language that they overlooked it. He was a slave as well.

Can someone give me recommendations on the best loeb latin books to order?

It's plain to see at this point that you're far more proficient at enforcing niggardly financial transactions then you are playing an instrument.

You've really opened up my mind to the possibilities of Jazz, music is a great and beautiful thing, but it's better to be like a cheap car salesman to keep every dime for your slippery fingers that you can nickel and dime from children.

I've covered most of the russian realists, and just bought a collection of stories by maupassant, I think it's my favorite literature movement, i'd appreciate more.

Who are some Russian authors who might be overlooked from the 19th century and prior?

I've covered Gogol, Pushkin, Tolstoy, Dostoy, Lermontov, Turgenev.

Just a short summary, no it's not for a class, I'm not marxist or communist or any of that, I was having a discussion with my brother in the car and he's recently been reading theology and philosophy aka a few religious books and a pihlosophy of the west book, and he got on me and my parents in the car when I mentioned how on a state level as far as politics are concerned religion is useless, no I didn't mean it in regards to a fedora tipping manner, more the effects on it are so negated compared to the past.

He then mentioned if I think good and evil exist and then mentioned twisted thinkers like karl marx and a few others and I mentioned karl marx was an economist first and foremost, which i know a tiny bit about.

I'm still irked cause it was 3v1 and I didn't know enough to properly debate or refute anyone.
