So far my plan be a better writer is just reading more books and doing tons of writing exercises. My theory is that in time, my brain will amass the knowledge gained from reading and writing that my brain organically generates a writing form on it's own. I'm not sure if I'm on the right path. Am I doing it right?

My dream:
A man is trying to sell a neck brace to me that I’m supposed to wear everywhere for a certain amount of time. He tries to mystify or impress me with little items and pills and hard to chew taffies that he has pulled from his box first. I know it’s a scam. He asks me questions, like what was the third miraculous act of God in one Bible scene or another, and when I answer “(several – 6 or 7) rods appear in the sky” I know I’ve got it wrong and he blankly stares at me. I passive aggressively call out each of his tricks and demystify them. We are in a sort of competition, one which is ultimately playful. I try on the neck brace, which I have to wear for months in exchange for a frightfully low amount of money, and it turns out to restrict my breathing, I immediately take it off and tell him I don’t want it for those reasons.
The room is dark. The man makes a Bane impression, and I make one in turn, I say “You know who you’d be in the movie? You’d be cat-woman.” This seems to upset him a little, as he is a man, but at this point he – unbeknownst to me – begins a transformation into a woman. When she asks who I would be in the movie I say “nobody” (but I’m really thinking Bane). She begins to call me clever and intelligent but in a slightly sassy and challenging way.
The scene shifts to a dinner table in my grandmother’s house, I’m seated with my two older sisters and the woman. I make blunt and rude comments about the woman, which upsets my sisters, who take her side and defend her. At this point I recall the batman incident and realize for the first time that she is really a woman. I see her breasts and her slender figure and white underwear.
