As far as spoken Symbol goes, pitch, timbre, and volume are irrelevant to meaning, so you're left with the individual sonic quality of each phoneme, which is just as irrelevant since bilingual people can correctly identify the same sentence in two different languages as the same sentence, even though the two versions might not share a single phoneme. As far as visual Symbol, how is this the same letter?
