She didn't write any explict scenes. If you want something without homosexuality at all, there are a few early works (like Return to Night), but it's clearly not her best. Renault's biggest achievements tend to be homo-oriented, and from those The Charioteer, the Alexander Trilogy and The Last of the Wine are my favorites.

If you don't mind gay characters, I recommend The Charioteer by Mary Renault. It follows a wounded British soldier in a military hospital during the war. First published in 1953. Quite nice novel.

If you don't mind a more modern setting, read The Charioteer. It's about a wounded WWII soldier in an English hospital. As The Last of Wine, it's very poetic and gay.
